## Descrizione

> statistiche.
> — Lifehacker

**Leverage Browser Cache**, **reduce DNS lookups/requests**, **reduce Cumulative
Layout Shift** and make your Google Fonts **100% GDPR-compliant** with OMGF!

#### Come funziona?

After installing and configuring the plugin, OMGF will automatically start looking
for Google Fonts whenever a page is requested on your website.

 * _Preload_ fonts to **reduce Cumulative Layout Shift** above the fold.
 * _Unload_ fonts that’re not used by you, your theme, and/or plugins.
 * Enable _Magic Fallbacks_ (OMGF Pro required), to automatically generate mathematically
tuned system font fallbacks that match your Google Fonts’ exact proportions,
eliminating **layout shift** while fonts load.

 * The **integrated Google Fonts checker** notifies you if a plugin or your theme
has added Google Fonts (e.g., after an update) it can’t process.
 * The **Performance Checker** automatically monitors your Google Fonts’ performance
and notifies you about potential improvements in 4 areas:
    - **Unused subsets** — subsets that are downloaded but never used, increasing**
      Total Blocking Time**,
    - **Unused font styles/weights** — font variants that are loaded but not used,
      causing **unused CSS**,
    - **Missing preloads** — fonts used above the fold that aren’t preloaded, increasing**
Largest Contentful Paint** and **First Contentful Paint**,
    - **Cumulative Layout Shift** — layout shift caused by fonts loading after the
      page is rendered.
 * Supporto per il **font variabili**,
 * **Remove Resource Hints** (preload, preconnect, dns-prefetch) pointing to `fonts.
   googleapis.com` or
 * **Ensure text remains visible during webfont load** by forcing the _font-display_
attribute to all your other fonts! (OMGF Pro required),

#### Funzionalità aggiuntive in OMGF Pro

 * **Smart Optimize** automatically detects which fonts, subsets, and weights are
actually used on each page — preloading the ones that matter and removing the
ones that don’t, to **eliminate render-blocking resources** and **reduce unused
   CSS**.
 * **Magic Fallbacks** generates mathematically tuned system font fallbacks that
match your Google Fonts’ exact proportions, eliminating **layout shift** while
   fonts load.
 * Automatically configures itself to make sure all externally hosted Google Fonts
on your site are hosted locally. OMGF Pro supports:
    - dichiarazioni `@font-face` e `@import` all’interno dei **blocchi `<style>`
      in linea**,
    - `@font-face` and `@import` statements inside **local stylesheets** loaded
by e.g. your theme and/or plugins,
    - `@font-face` and `@import` statements inside **externally hosted stylesheets**
      loaded by your theme and/or
       plugins,
    - Web Font Loader (`webfont.js`),
    - Async Google Fonts (loaded using JS)
    - Icone Material.
 * **Multisite** and **WPML** support.
 * **Whitelabel stylesheets**, which removes branding and comments from the stylesheets
   to further reduce the size.
 * Modify your fonts’ `src: url()` attribute to fully integrate with your configuration,
      oppure
    - To serve fonts from an alternative path (e.g. when you’re using Security through
      Obscurity plugins like WP Hide,
       etc.), or
    - Qualsiasi cosa tu voglia!
 * **Developer Mode**, which allows you to easily migrate between Development, Staging/
   Testing, Acceptance and Production
    environments.

Support is unbelievably good, the developer replies within just hours and immediately
fixes any bugs and issues you encounter. Even after a long day of work he just keeps
going in the evening, won’t let go until it’s fixed. Then he adds those fixes to
the next update so everyone can enjoy them. If only all customer support was this
good! For this price I’m super impressed by the developer, keep it up Daan!

I found the above issue but the developer reply me in this way: You are the third
person in 5 years that had this issue. My license manager is coded to install that
key once. Something in your configuration triggered that code twice. And, to be
honest, I don’t know why that happens. It’s been on my TODO list to investigate
this, but, like I said, it hasn’t happened enough for me to prioritize this. I regret
to paid it!

This is one of those plugins that – without question – deserves a 10 / 10 rating(
or in this case 5 / 5). You turn it on. You browse your own site. You go back to
the backend. The scanner will tell you it found x Google fonts. And without you
having to do anything, it will automatically download them from the Google server,
upload them to your own WordPress installation and the calls to the external source(
which is what’s causing the GDPR problems) will be automatically blocked. While
the functionality of the plugin alone is great, the UI / UX deserves special mention.
The plugin authors really went above and beyond to make this as easy as possible.
I’m running a web design agency and usually try to avoid plugins, but this one has
saved our butts once or twice when we didn’t know what other plugin was loading
the Google font from the external source and we could get rid of the issue in no
time (and at no cost!). Again, one of the most obvious 5 out of 5 ratings in the
entire WordPress repo.

   wp_head())

   –

   they’re downloaded and replaced on-the-fly.
 * Enhanced: The Download API is replaced for an easier, leaner, and faster alternative
and no longer uses the WordPress API.

[ Changelog shortened … ]

using OMGF’s new Download API. No initial configuration required!
    - This means that if you use different fonts on different pages, all of them
will be cached and served locally.
 * HUGE performance increase in OMGF’s automatic replacing/removing methods.
 * Major overhaul of Settings Page:
    - Removed Extensions Tab
    - Some settings were moved to a new tab: Basic Settings.
    - Improved Welcome and Documentation tab.
    - Clarified option descriptions.
 * Removed ‘Generate Stylesheet’ tab, which’ll be released in a separate add-on
   plugin soon.
 * Removed ‘Use Web Font Loader?’ option, because it causes Cumulative Layout Shift
