Mailchimp for WooCommerce

Join the 17 million customers who use Mailchimp, the world’s largest marketing automation platform, to develop their e-commerce marketing strategy. With the official Mailchimp for WooCommerce integration, your customers and their purchase data are automatically synced with your Mailchimp account, making it easy to send targeted campaigns, automatically follow up with customers post-purchase, recommend products, recover abandoned carts, and measure the ROI of your marketing efforts. And it’s completely free.
With Mailchimp for WooCommerce, you’ll have the power to:

– Set up marketing automations to remind customers about items they left in their cart or viewed on your site, win back lapsed customers, and follow up post-purchase. (Now available for free accounts!)
– Showcase product recommendations.
– Track and segment customers based on purchase history and purchase frequency.
– View detailed data on your marketing performance in your Mailchimp Dashboard.
– Find new customers, connect with current ones, and drive them all to your website with Facebook and Instagram ads. Then, set up Google remarketing ads to turn your site visitors into shoppers.
– Automatically embed a pop-up form that converts your website visitors to subscribers.
– Add discount codes created in WooCommerce to your emails and automations with a Promo Code content block
– Create beautiful landing pages that make it easy to highlight your products, promote a sale or giveaway, and grow your list.

Important Notes

This plugin supports our most powerful API 3.0 features, and is intended for users who have not yet integrated their WooCommerce stores with Mailchimp.
You can run this new integration at the same time as your current WooCommerce integration for Mailchimp. However, data from the older integration will display separately in subscriber profiles, and can’t be used with e-commerce features that require API 3.0. compatibility is limited to Business tier users only.
At this time, the synchronization of product categories from WooCommerce to Mailchimp is not supported.

Before You Start

Here are some things to know before you begin this process.
– This plugin requires you to have the WooCommerce plugin already installed and activated in WordPress.
– Your hosting environment must meet WooCommerce’s minimum requirements, including PHP 7.0 or greater.
– We recommend you use this plugin in a staging environment before installing it on production servers. To learn more about staging environments, check out these related WordPress plugins.
– Mailchimp for WooCommerce syncs the customer’s first name, last name, email address, and orders.
– WooCommerce customers who haven’t signed up for marketing emails will appear in the Transactional portion of your list, and cannot be exported.

Task Roadmap

You’ll need to do a few things to connect your WooCommerce store to Mailchimp.
– Download the plugin.
– Install the plugin on your WordPress Admin site.
– Connect the plugin with your Mailchimp API Key.
– Configure your list settings to complete the data sync process.

Advanced Queue Setup In CLI mode

To optimize the performance of your Mailchimp integration – it is recommended that you run the queue in CLI mode.
First define a constant in your config file
define(‘DISABLE_WP_HTTP_WORKER’, true);
You have 2 options to run this process:
1. On a cron schedule every minute:
* * * * * /usr/bin/wp –url= –path=/full/path/to/install/ queue listen
2. Using a process manager like Monit or Supervisord:
/usr/bin/wp –url= –path=/full/path/to/install/ queue listen

Optional on-demand queue processing

If you would like to turn off the background queue processing and handle jobs “on-demand” you can do so by adding a constant in your wp-config.php file:

Multi-site Setups

The Mailchimp for WooCommerce supports WordPress Multi Sites and below are a few things to note.
– Each site that has the plugin installed is a separate connection to Mailchimp.
– Deactivating – disables the plugin from sending data to Mailchimp. Upon reactivating the plugins original setup details will be intact. Deleting is necessary to connect a different Mailchimp list with WooCommerce.
– Deleting removes the connection between Mailchimp and WooCommerce, and uninstalls the plugin from your site.
Refer to the WordPress Codex for more information about Multisite Network Administration

Works infrequently

I was using this extension quite extensively on a number of different stores, but it works so inconsistently that it’s not worth the trouble.

Syncing orders seems to get stuck frequently, and no new subscribers are added to the mailing list while that’s happening. Goodness knows how many subscribers we’ve missed out on because this plugin has decided to take the day off.

did my woocommerce connection

did my woocommerce connection, went to mailchimp and set up a pop up. Mailchimp said it has automatically published to my site, but when I check on my site, the pop up is nowhere to be found. Later it started coming but it was exit intent – exit intent means when people are trying to leave your site, but this pop up loads as soon as the visitor visits the site. And the worst part is that, I removed from mailchimp, but still the pop up is showing and I don’t know how to disable it in the real sense. And worst of it, it kinda slows down my site.

Double opt-in is resent constantly

I have a problem with your plugin: Customers that are already subscribed receive the double opt-in mail anyways. This is annoying them massively, which is not great for business. How can I fix this?

Terrible plugin and even worst support

This plugin will just not sync anymore, and you can see multiple people having issues with that!

Their documentation about fixing an error that should not exist in the first place is horrible, like 1 or 2 paragraphs that aren’t even complete. And if you’re a rookie with coding and WP, you’ll be having a BAD time.

Well, do you need support (any kind of support whatsoever)? You’ll have to go premium for a plugin that doesn’t even work!

And hey, there’s more, if you choose another plugin instead of this garbo, your store will not sync, because they just don’t allow it.

Sincerely, one of the most popular service for WordPress can’t have such lousy documentation and support.

I’d surely go pro ASAP, cause their soul functionalities are fine. But with this kind of treatment they give to free users, i’ll be CHANGING for a service that actually gives a shit about having a compatible plugin with WP ASAP.

List not sync!👎

Tried several times.
Always has this notification “We were unable to process the request. A product with the provided ID already exists in the account. on 1498 in /home/mysite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/mailchimp-for-woocommerce/includes/api/class-mailchimp-api.php

and Sync Status always like this:

Initial Sync: In Progress

I am frustating with this issue. Plugin must do better than expected, so customer will purchase when exceed those 2000 subscriber, isn’t it?

Please support.

Very buggy, problematic plugin – does not work

Here is a list of issues:

-This plugin adds terribly name-spaced tables to your database – no prefix.
-The plugin threw a bunch of API errors after it couldn’t connect.
– The plugin stopped midway through syncing every time I tried (5 to 6 sync attempts).
– There is no detailed documentation for the WP CLI option, even though it is their support’s go to suggestion in every forum I saw when someone had issues. If you want to offer this solution, please offer detailed documentation! I ultimately had to just ask another developer who was more familiar with WP CLI because your 1 paragraph explanation gives no detail about what needs to be installed or how – even links to other resources would be appreciated.
– Support has very limited ability to help. They will just tell you to delete the plugin, reinstall and create a new API code. Once that doesn’t work they will recommend WP CLI but don’t know how it works, don’t have documentation for this option, and won’t be able to help you after WP CLI doesn’t solve your problems.

Ultimately, this plugin is pretty terrible. Just look at the other reviews. If it doesn’t work on the first few attempts I wouldn’t waste more time on it. You can use the WooCommerce MailChimp plugin to add new customers. It’s really too bad because the promised functionality would be awesome.
