The URL must be present in the post and the image can also be hosted on an external server: the plugin will take the first image in the post, make it the featured image of the post and also insert it in the media list. Excellent. ![](https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/3f885732b180bafbaedcbcfeaecf93f47abb56f78c617f886a5d955457ac0370? s=60&d=retro&r=g) ### 󠀁[Does not work at all](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/does-not-work-at-all-88/)󠁿 [edwinkort](https://profiles.wordpress.org/edwinkort/) 14 Aprile 2024 All it does is a process bar that slowly goes to 100%, but in the end 0 featured images were created from uploaded image in the post. I still have to set them manually. ![](https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/eebad407b7209dc61d7fb503838c1352e70088488218243f2535754ca826220c? s=60&d=retro&r=g) ### 󠀁[Works perfect](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/works-perfect-1062/)󠁿 [Uri Lazcano](https://profiles.wordpress.org/urielink/) 1 Dicembre 2023 After doing a long import of posts, it generates thumbnails for each post. ![](https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/6b9b756654e719f96753f2e1f57a2436bd3b254b06e63fd10021a469ddd0c9f8? s=60&d=retro&r=g) ### 󠀁[Fantastic!](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/fantastic-3147/)󠁿 [Integrantsvs](https://profiles.wordpress.org/bdwatt0/) 9 Febbraio 2023 XO Featured Image is the ONLY plugin that works reliably to automatically set a featured image. I do many transfers from Blogger and TypePad to Wordpress, and this is the only plugin that consistently works for setting the featured images for these posts. It's simplicity itself, without a ton of settings. Thanks for providing such a stable plugin! ![](https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/ccfe97e0b406cd1ef6630c7efaf81ad2bb9cf98bdabcd4cb9f904599c8773b97? s=60&d=retro&r=g) ### 󠀁[Perfect tool with suggestion for improvement](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/perfect-tool-with-suggestion-for-improvement/)󠁿 [atallen](https://profiles.wordpress.org/atallen74/) 16 Novembre 2022 5 risposte Thank you for the great plugin. Is exactly what I was looking for and the best plugin you can find for this purpose… But: The following image URLs often appear in my posts: image.jpg?uid=Yi3w9CE. These image files are not captured by your plugin. So far I only knew this from form data transmissions like: index.html?var=123. But I have such pictures in my posts. Can you fix this in the next update please? My suggested solution would be: $path= substr( $url, strrpos( $url, '.' )+4); $url = str_ireplace($path, '', $url); ![](https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/c2fab285f9e50dd163d927d604c09e704675fcf78288e346532201b92f50e31a? s=60&d=retro&r=g) ### 󠀁[Easy to use without buying](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/easy-to-use-without-buying/)󠁿 [malagebidi](https://profiles.wordpress.org/malagebidi/) 21 Settembre 2022 易用不用购买 [ Leggi tutte le recensioni di 21 ](https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/xo-featured-image-tools/reviews/) ## Contributi e sviluppo “XO Featured Image Tools” è un software open source.
