Descrizione
Leda Publish Check helps editors see what is missing, unclear, or unfinished before an item is published or updated.
It checks the title, body, headings, excerpts, links, images, taxonomies, and editorial tasks you define. Results are grouped, explained, and paired with a practical next step. Publishing stays advisory until you mark a check as required.
Mandatory rules are enforced on the server. That includes the block editor, the classic editor, the REST API, bulk and quick edits, WP-CLI, and scheduled publication. Autosaves, revisions, and imports are left alone.
The plugin does not send content, analytics, or account data to Bez Leda Studios or any other service. Optional external link checks, which are off by default, request only the URLs in the content and say so in Settings.
Passing these checks does not guarantee editorial quality, accessibility compliance, or search performance. The plugin reports conditions it can verify, such as a missing file or an empty heading. It does not judge whether alternative text is a good description.
What it checks
- Empty titles, body content, excerpts, and slugs
- Word count, paragraph length, required text, and prohibited text
- Headings, including more than one H1 in the content and skipped heading levels
- Empty blocks, duplicate titles, and unfinished editorial tasks
- Featured images, alternative text, missing files, and unsupported media references
- Empty, malformed, duplicate, internal, and unpublished links
- Categories, tags, custom taxonomies, title length, and excerpt length
- Author assignment and required custom fields you name
Editors
The block editor shows a readiness line, a Publish Check panel, and a pre-publish summary. Results update as you edit. The classic editor shows the same rules in a metabox and can recheck the current fields. Content lists can show a compact readiness column based on the last saved result.
For developers
Other plugins can register checks with leda_publish_check_register_rule(). See docs/developer-api.md.
Privacy Policy
Leda Publish Check stores editorial-task progress and readiness summaries in your WordPress database. It does not transmit content, analytics, or personal data to Bez Leda Studios or any other service.
If an administrator enables external link checking, the site sends a request to the external URLs being validated. Those sites may see the server address. Results are cached locally. The feature is off by default and is disclosed on the Settings screen.

FAQ
-
Does a passing result mean the content is ready for search or accessibility?
-
No. A ready result means the applicable checks passed. It is not a search, accessibility, or editorial-quality guarantee.
-
What is the difference between advisory and mandatory?
-
Advisory checks are warnings. Editors can still publish. Mandatory checks stop a change to Published, Private, or Scheduled until they pass. The block is enforced on the server, not only in the browser.
-
Will this stop drafts, autosaves, or imports?
-
No. Drafts can be saved. Autosaves, revisions, and WordPress importer runs are not blocked. A failed update to an item that is already public leaves the live item unchanged and keeps the attempt as an autosave.
-
How is the classic editor different?
-
The classic editor runs the same rules and the same server-side publishing block. It can recheck the title, body, and excerpt on the page. It cannot move the cursor to a block.
-
Are dynamic blocks and shortcodes checked?
-
No. They are not executed. The panel says when saved content could not be fully checked.
-
Where do I get support?
-
Use https://bezledastudios.com/contact/ or email contact@bezledastudios.com.
-
Does the plugin contact other websites?
-
Only if you turn on external link checking. The Settings screen explains that your server then requests those URLs. Normal editing does not send those requests. Nothing is sent to Bez Leda Studios.
-
Can I add my own checks?
-
Yes. Use
leda_publish_check_register_rule()oninit. Custom checks appear on the Checks screen and follow the same severity settings.
