BP Distance Search adds a new Google Place Autocomplete field type to your BuddyPress extended profiles, and registers this field type with BP Profile Search.

After installing this plugin:

  1. Admin can create new profile field(s) with type Google Place Autocomplete
  2. Members can fill in the new profile field(s) on their Profile Edit page
  3. Admin can add the new profile field(s) to a BP Profile Search form, selecting either the distance search mode or one of the usual text search modes contains, is, or is like
  4. Visitors can use the search form with the new profile field(s)

Installazione

Get a Maps JavaScript API key, and enable the Geocoding API and the Places API.

This plugin doesn’t require any configuration, you’ll need your API key when you create your first Google Place Autocomplete profile field.

Very nice, little plugin which solves quite big problem of the missing location field in the user's profile in BuddyBoss. Thank you so much! Please keep developing this plugin🙏🏻

There is only one thing I would change. I wish you could limit how much information users could give. For example: require city - but prevent users from giving their full address for security reasons. I think this is really about Google though and not the plugin. The plugin just uses Google’s APIs. I just added a warning on my registration page advising users not to give their full addresses. The plugin is very useful and does just what it’s supposed to do.

As simple as installing the plugin, adding the field and API key. Perfect. Another exceptional plugin by Andrea. Thank you so much for your continued development of this plugin and BP Profile Search.
