FAQ

Could I just use a role editing plugin to do the same thing as Simple Client Dashboard?

Yes, although this approach takes quite a bit of setup that you have to do on every customer’s website. Simple Client Dashboard offers a swift one-click solution so you can switch all your clients over quickly and easily incorporate it into your new client workflow. And in addition, most of these plugins are limited to user capabilities, while Simple Client Dashboard also provides additional capabilities and permissions that aren’t exposed by WordPress by default.

Will my clients know they’re not full administrators?

Probably not; they should still be able to perform most of the tasks they’re interested in, like adding content and managing most website functionality. They would also see their User Role set to “Admin”, which in our experience, satisfies even the most controlling clients. We suggest adding something in your project maintenance contracts that suggests that your agency is set as the “Super-Admin,” and that would be the only ones who can make dramatic or fundamental changes to their sites, such as changing themes and installing plugins.

I have a question or need help with the plugin, how do I contact your support team?

To contact our support team, submit your message through our WordPress support forum. Or, you can also submit your message through our website’s Contact page.

What if I need to support more plugins or themes than what’s offered?

If you find a plugin or theme you would like to see included in Simple Client Dashboard, reach out to us! We’d love to hear your insights. We plan to support more themes and plugins over time. And we count every request and keep tabs on which permissions we need to prioritize and what integrations are important to our customers.

Install plugin, edit it a little with the plugin "User Role Editor" and you are good to go 🙂

This plugin rocks - and it is exactly what I need. It filters as mentioned in the plugin description, which works perfect. It has only 4 stars, because there is one thing that would be really important to me: If you could add the possibility to restrict also other areas. For example: I have a backup plugin installed, and a Admin Help Box plugin, as well as other handy admin plugin that help me, but which my clients should not see. It would be simply PERFECT if your plugin would pull these other installed plugins, and I could simply flip a switch so the "Admin" user role could also simply not view them. BTW: Taking away the link would already be enough for me, because if a link in the backend navigation is not there, regular client users are simply not deep enough into it, as that they could imagine there is more than they see at the moment. 😉 Think this would be possible to have done? I know there is other plugins out there that do similar things (I have tried different ones), but I would much rather have all of this controled by only this one plugin than having to manage all of that on different plugins... . Looking forward to your answer - and would really L O V E if you could implement the suggested. Thx so much for this already great plugin! - Arne
